Help your high school students discover exciting, rewarding, and surprising career possibilities in agriculture while competing for a cash prize! genAG is a marketing plan competition that challenges students to creatively promote ag-sector careers to their peers.

Agriculture and agri-food are flourishing with more career opportunities than people to fill them – not only in farming, but in engineering, science, marketing, trades, and so much more. These careers are often financially rewarding and fulfilling. But they’re not where young people tend to look first when planning their future.

Open your students’ eyes to exciting new horizons by taking part in genAG. Working in groups, they’ll develop and implement a creative marketing plan to promote ag-sector careers to students just like them. Each group will present their ideas to a panel of ag and food professionals in a province-wide competition. Ideas will be shared. Prizes will be won.

Along the way, you’ll have the chance to engage guest speakers and take your class on field trips to give students the full story of agriculture. And at no cost! genAG is a free program. All resources and materials will be provided.

Overall it was an awesome program. Loved the plan and project. Sure could see the potential engagement qualities for the students.

Students were in charge of their own success and failure. They learned a lot about project management.
