Upcoming volunteer opportunities
Canadian Agriculture Literacy Month (CALM)
CALM is a hands-on program that encourages students to learn about and celebrate Canadian agriculture by reading books, watching videos, engaging in activities, and meeting farmers and industry representatives – people like you.
Every year, we need a team of over 150 volunteers to meet the demand for CALM.
As a CALM volunteer, you’ll visit a classroom and share YOUR story.
Many students don’t fully understand what agriculture is. By telling students why you love Canadian agriculture, you will open their eyes to new knowledge, arouse their curiosity about the world around them, and inspire them with your passion and energy.
Once you register as a CALM volunteer, we will reach out to you with a Volunteer Package, including an AITC-M t-shirt, a book to share with your classroom, and an activity to lead. We’ll also offer you tips on classroom management, and tips for props and activities to make your visit a memorable success.
