The EngAged Career Fair is not your typical career fair. It's designed to introduce high school students in Manitoba to a diverse range of career opportunities within the agriculture and food industry.
As an integral part of the event, students complete a brief self-assessment based on our ThinkAG career platform and the Holland Code. This assessment categorizes individuals according to their specific interests, enabling us to match them with careers that align with their preferences. The Holland Code theory identifies six broad career interest areas: Think, Create, Help, Motivate, Organize, and Build.
Each exhibit features a Manitoba company or organization in agriculture, food, or related fields, and include a display outlining in-demand careers at the company, along with their associated Holland Codes.
At each both, employees from each company will be on hand to answer questions and lead students in a hands-on activity related to their specific field in the industry. This allows students to explore and gain a deeper understanding of each career area and the associated opportunities within the agriculture and food industry.
Before the event, we provide you with materials to help prepare you and your students to make the most of this unique career exploration opportunity.
